During the December floods, parts of our caravan park were affected, leaving 8 holiday lodges damaged beyond repair. You can see the extent of the flooding here. Thankfully, all of our customers who were flooded have since returned to our park with new holiday homes.
We take the safety of our customers and their homes on site very seriously, so preventing future flooding was our top priority during the clean up. Our insurance provider, Leisuredays, enlisted the help of a specialist flood consultant to help us make sure new concrete bases for the replacement lodges were set above the 2015 flood levels.
Due to our hard work and investment in preventing similar losses and damage in the future, Leisuredays have awarded us their ‘Risk Management Award 2016’! We hope the award gives our customers confidence in our risk management and assures them that their holiday home at Herdwick Croft can be insured.
