Our scenic location next to Bassenthwaite Lake is ideal for soaking up the breathtaking views of the surrounding fells. There’s plenty to see and do throughout the year, with many great attractions within easy reach of the park.
Herdwick Croft is a haven for walkers, we’re close to Skiddaw and close the Northern fell of Binsey, so you’ll find a good selection of walks on your doorstep during your stay. The North Lakeland fells are renown for the quality and variety of the walks, from gentle strolls to epic all-day adventures!
The picturesque village of Bassenthwaite is only 2 miles away and is ideal for those interested in watersports, the lake is excellent for windsurfing and canoeing! The Bassenthwaite Sailing Club is only 1 mile away where you can hire or launch a sailing dinghy, or just relax on the lake shore enjoying the sun or a picnic. Fishing is also very popular.
The market town of Keswick on Derwentwater is just 8 miles away and is home to an excellent choice of shops, restaurants, bars and an excellent theatre. Cockermouth is just 5 miles away, the birthplace of Wordsworth and Fletcher Christian (author of Mutiny on the Bounty). The caravan park is well placed on the main bus route to Workington, Cockermouth, Keswick, and Penrith. Our park is well equipped and we has sites for your own caravan or touring vehicle. There are excellent facilities including:
