Autumn is a special time of year in the Lake District. That's why we highly recommend booking a stay with us this October; our scenic location is ideal for soaking up the breathtaking views of Bassenthwaite Lake and taking in the splendor of the surrounding forests and woods as they change from green to fiery shades of gold and red. United Utilities have notified us that they will need to close a section of the B5291 to continue the next stage of construction of the West Cumbria Water Supplies Project. If you're visiting from Tuesday, 8th May, please be aware that the B5291 will be closed close to the Castle Inn Hotel for up to two weeks. There will be no access for vehicles, cyclists or pedestrian while the closures are in place. The diversion route will be clearly signposted, you can view this below.
